Private 5G isn’t just about connecting machinery, workers and operational communications. Great wireless connectivity can become a foundation for port modernisation, expansion and agile growth.
In this peer-led discussion, port leaders will share real-world experiences of how private 5G can support transformation, from solving today’s connectivity challenges to creating the flexibility needed to adopt new technology, expand operations and respond to changing demands.
Attendees will discover:
- How private 5G can enable expansion and agile growth, providing the connectivity foundation to modernise without being constrained by existing infrastructure.
- What a transformational deployment really looks like, with candid, behind-the-scenes insights, practical lessons and real-world anecdotes from ports on the journey.
- What’s next for the connected port, and how great wireless connectivity can pave the way for AI, automation, digital twins and autonomous operations.
This isn’t a technology presentation. It’s a practical, peer-to-peer conversationgiving port leaders an honest look under the hood at the realities of transformation, and the role connectivity can play in enabling what comes next.

Ports increasingly need to turn environmental data into practical decisions and incentives. This session will explore how continuous vessel-level emissions intelligence can help ports understand environmental performance, identify priorities and demonstrate progress, and how incentive schemes such as ESI and EPI can translate that insight into action. It will also look at how ESI and EPI will operate as complementary modules under the IAPH umbrella from 2027, supported by OceanScore’s shared technical platform.
This session will cover the Port of Dover's digitisation journey preparing for operational changes resulting from the introduction of EES, as they looked to start tracking traffic through the ferry terminal, and how they pivoted when go live dates changed to ensure operations got value from their new SmartPort system ahead of EES go live. Hear about the journey, lessons learned, engagement, and the results
